The Full Moon Theatre Charity

We are excited to share that our Full Moon Theatre is now officially registered as a UK charity. This marks an important milestone in the next chapter of our journey. Founded on the vision of Humbert Camerlo and Peter Rice, the Full Moon Theatre has always been more than a theatre project. It is a living laboratory where art, science, engineering and architecture come together to explore new ways of creating performances illuminated only by the light of the full moon.

2026 Full Moon Theatre workshop

The 2026 Full Moon Theatre workshop at Hooke Park with the AA Visiting School was a remarkable journey of technical and artistic growth, and it has been a true honor to build something so magical together in the woods. Organized and led by our technical director Francesco Anselmo and research director Yunni Cho, this year’s workshop allowed us to successfully refine our Hypatia reflectors by integrating acrylic mirrors, achieving much cleaner and brighter reflections within the forest setting.

New Workshop video

We have published a new video to summarise the experience of the past three Full Moon Theatre workshops. This new video has been kindly edited by Max Bernaerts and includes key moments of our 2025 workshop in Hooke Park, where Teatro Vivo and Angel Exit Theatre created and performed a theatre piece inspired by the Three Witches in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Reflections from the Moonwell

Reflections from the Moonwell Exhibition at the Cosmic House Dates: 22 October–19 December 2025 The Full Moon Theatre joins The Cosmic House’s Post-Modern Cosmologies season with an archival display that plays between sun and moon, architecture and performance. Centred on the house’s semi-hidden Moonwell – the lunar counterpart to the Solar Stair – the display traces how light, reflection and cosmic cycles shape both Charles’ domestic cosmology and FMT’s moonlit experiments.

Gourgoubès

A magical stop on our journey: the Full Moon Theatre had the privilege of visiting the original theatre in Gourgoubès! Thanks to a serendipitous encounter with the site’s caretaker (and a big shoutout to Alexandre Camerlo!), we experienced a rare glimpse into a space overflowing with soul, history, and stunning design. Every detail carries intention and love. Truly inspiring and perhaps even a hint of what’s to come. Stay tuned!

2025 Full Moon Theatre workshop experience

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of our 2025 workshop, co-organized by Full Moon Theatre’s technical director, Francesco Anselmo, and Design and Research lead, Yunni Cho. Hosted at the Architectural Association’s Hooke Park in Dorset, UK, and kindly supported by ARUP Phase 2, this year’s workshop brought together seven international participants to assemble and build reflectors of all shapes and sizes. In a unique collaboration with two locally based theatre companies—Angel Exit (co-directed by Tasmin Fessey and Lynne Forbes) and Teatro Vivo (co-directed by Kas Darley and Mark Stevenson)—we presented a theater play that reinterpreted the witches from Macbeth.
