The Full Moon Theatre joins The Cosmic House’s Post-Modern Cosmologies season with an archival display that plays between sun and moon, architecture and performance.
Centred on the house’s semi-hidden Moonwell – the lunar counterpart to the Solar Stair – the display traces how light, reflection and cosmic cycles shape both Charles’ domestic cosmology and FMT’s moonlit experiments.
Founded in the 1980s by Humbert Camerlo and Peter Rice, Full Moon Theatre used reflectors to capture and direct the light of the full moon, creating open-air performances without electricity. Today it continues as a research project and creative workshop, developing open-source reflector designs for sustainable, collaborative moonlit theatres worldwide.
At The Cosmic House, these histories meet: a dialogue between art, science and environment, staged in architecture that already thinks in orbits, phases and rituals.
